We're grilling a turkey to bring to Christmas dinner at my sister's in-laws' home. They're having a buffet with turkey prepared four ways, and all the trimmings. The will be something for everyone!

Wow, that sounds really good. I guess the saying that "everything's better with bacon" really applies here. I am going to try that with the turkey breast I have in the freezer.

Enjoy, kayceecat! Can you imagine the sandwiches you could make? I'm thinking wheat bread, mayo, lettuce and tomato.... sort of like a BLT but with Turkey! Yum!

My sister made the best turkey I've ever had. Before she cooked the turkey, she made four long deep slits in each side of the turkey breast and inserted a thick slice of bacon into each slit. Then she covered the rest of the turkey with bacon (it took a few packages to cover the entire bird), and let the turkey sit in a preheated 450 degree oven for 20 minutes. Then she removed the bacon, which was crisp at that point, turned the oven down to 325, covered the turkey with onion slices and let the turkey roast the conventional way. The smell that went through the house was heavenly, and the flavor of the roasted breast was wonderfully smokey and rich. We usually have more dark meat fans in our family, but after tasting the white meat, everyone devoured it!

Make a spice sock, put every tasty thing you can find, that you can stand putting in the turkey. Tie your sock, and stick it in.
