This year keep track of how much you save by using coupons at the grocery store. Set a goal for yourself to save a specific percentage or a specific dollar amount on every trip. Then at the end of the year, add up how much you saved. You'll be surprised at how fast it adds up!

At the store I had a coupon for $1 off two boxes of cereal, and there was a 75 cents store coupon off two boxes of cereal. Then I used one of my "double the coupon value" supermarket offers on the $1 coupon. The best part was that the cereal was on sale for 2 for $5, so one box was free!

Just starting to save for retirement? If you save $10 per day for 20 years at %5 interest, you'll have $$124,989 but will have put in only $72,000, thanks to compounding. If you're young enough to do that for 50 years, you'll end up with over three quarters of a million dollars!
